After further changes to the Job Support Scheme, a client would like to know how the changes will affect them, especially as they are a smaller business. Please can you advise?
Employers like your client have likely been preparing for the Job Support Scheme (JSS) as it once was but found out recently, just a week before the scheme is due to start, that the original rules will no longer apply. This is because further clarifications were made to the scheme on 22nd October 2020. Now, the Government will be able to help businesses who are suffering from a business downturn due to coronavirus restrictions, or if they have been told to close temporarily. It has been separated into two provisions: JSS (Open) and JSS (Closed).
